My grandpa was a trucker and he would play the entire Teddy Bear album all the time. This entire story is pure nostalgia for me.

Nice reaction! Tears, knew it, waited til afternoon. The CB culture has gone to Hell in a handbasket. Some yrs ago, hubby and I were heading into VA from WVA, and I got a weather alert on Twitter. So I opened up my weather app, looked at the forecast, including some closures. They were expecting a heavy snow and Ice in a significant enough amount to close the roads and tunnel ( or at least the tunnel we were going to be using.) I got on the CB and did the weather report and perspective closings... and got propositioned like I was the last lot lizard in LA on Christmas Eve. But that shite happened almost every time I got on the CB.. except in some of the back water Bread Basket roads. Oh.. yeah, tunnel and roads over the mountain were both closed for 2ish days.

My brother's are both owner operators and we all grew up in the country. They both had cb in their pickups so they could play hide and seek with their buddies.😂

Truckers can be some of the sappiest tough guys you will ever meet! A ton of their music will be a feels song. Teddy Bear, Rose for Mama, Phantom 309, Little Joe, . . . There are also a bunch of happy songs or funny songs! I don't necessarily think of them as country songs, but I've enjoyed a bunch of them over the years!

On CB Radio conversion, E logs, GPS, cellphones, and the Internet impacted the necessity of the CB. Especially now, you have instant communication with everyone, and you no longer need directions or help from the other truckers. When I was OTR I tried to hook up an old CB unit I had, but it was so old I never could get it working. I kept saying I was going to buy a new unit, but I never spent the money to get one.

Back in the 70s & 80s there was a truck stop called Jarrells in Caroline Co VA. There was a club called Geraldines there where some pretty big country singers appaered. It's said that Alan Jackson wrote Don't Rock the Juke Box there. They had a radio station that broadcast all night with a DJ called Big John Trimble.

Ahh... Finally got to my TV so I could watch the racing video (couldn't see it on my phone). I'm sure you guys are having a blast with the motorcycles. One of my first boyfriends was into motocross so I spent many hours around motorcycles and dirt tracks. It was lots of fun.

I was blessed to have a stepdad who gave me so much love and support growing up, loved me like I was his own, called me his daughter, never step daughter, he NEVER failed me. He was an alcoholic, my mom divorced him, he got sober, worked hard to get her back, never stopped being my dad during that time, he showed us how a man respects and treats his lady. He also gave me the greatest example of how to love a child I did not give birth to. My bio Dad was part of my life, but my stepdad was always more my Dad. We lost him last year and I’m still crushed. It’s a gift when that child trusts and loves you back. Also Miranda Lambert has two new songs. Dammit Randy and Wranglers

Holly had 4 Number 1's "Love Someone Like Me", "Only When I Love", "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me?, and "You Really Had Me Going". She should have had many more, but was basically Blacklisted from Country Radio before the end of 1991. Interestingly, none of her Number 1's would be my first choices for you to feature here. I'd prefer some Top 10's like "Why Wyoming", "Strangers Again", "It's Always Gonna Be Someday", "What You Love Does Too Me" There Goes My Heart Again" or her Duet's "Maybe" with Kenny Rogers, and "A Face In The Crowd" with Michael Martin Murphy which was huge Top 5 song in 1987. Or how about some lesser-known stuff like "No One Takes The Train Anymore" that should have been a Number 1 hit? Some of my personal favorite songs of Holly's are "Lonesome Highway", "On The Wings of An Angel", "Just Across The Rio Grande", "There's No Heart So Strong", "Sometime Today", "The Stronger The Tie", "Old Love In New Mexico", "Temporary Loss Of Memory", "Let Go", I Laughed Until I Cried". The song was from the depression era about a man in jail and gets a dear John letter. So the way they play it fits the meaning far better.

I must admit I usually tend to pay more attention to Keith's reaction during videos (Keith is usually more critical). I could tell who the stepdad was when as the song progressed, it showed the emotions of being a stepdad from Dustin. I love the realness in your guys' reactions. You guys are the best!
